Depotting!

So this is the first time I tried to depot my MAC eye shadows. I've watched tons of videos on YouTube showing the methods with heat and the methods without heat. At first, I had no intention of depotting my eye shadows, but one night the bf was talking his sweet little time to call me, so i decided to go for it! I had a hard time depotting Parrot e/s because of how hard it was to find it before... And my Cranberry e/s was from a collection and had a white case, but O WELL! I just HAD TO!!

So here's my little pictorial on how to depot your MAC eye shadows


First You'll need a straightening iron, wax paper to cover the plates and your MAC eyeshadow




Then you take a sharp knife ( I used one of those X-Acto pen/knife) and put it in the little groove, and wiggle it.



It should look like this:



After you separate the piece of plastic that contains the shadow, place it onto the hot iron ( covered with wax paper, of course!)



Check after a minute or so to see if the glue has melted under the eyeshadow pan.



Place the melting glue onto a magnet, and cut around the pan.



Next we are going to take the label off this bad boy!



Place the empty container onto the wax paper, label side down.



After a minute, the label should come off with no problem at all.



Stick that bad boy on the magnet.



And you're ready for the palette!




I got bored and decided to do the rest of my eye shadows that I had still in the pot. and anded up doing a blush to put into my blush palette! I have a creme blush but want to do the no-heat method, since it might melt.
